Analysis of Hotmix and Emulsion
Many tests are routinely available, using the most up to date standards. The laboratory specialises in the following areas: aggregates, bituminous materials, asphaltic concrete and site testing services.

Routine Hotmix, Bitumen & Emulsion testing
We offer a large range of aggregate testing. From aggregate classification to asphalt mix design tests. Tests available include: sampling, dry and wet aggregate gradation, sand equivalent, density and absorption, sealing chip size and shape, broken faces, cleanness, moisture content.

Bituminous materials
We perform routine competence testing on asphalts and binders in pavement and motorway applications. Services offered are quality assurance, site investigation, asphalt mix designs (both Marshall and Gyratory methods) and road inspections. Tests available include: sampling, binder content and aggregate gradation, aggregate density and absorption, maximum density and effect of moisture.

Site testing services
A range of on site tests can be offered. We can provide a service of road inspection from surface texture to field density. Services available include: sampling of aggregates, bitumenlab and asphalts, surface texture by sand circle, asphalt coring, density by nuclear gauge and road inspections.

Specialist equipment and services
Design of motorsport racetracks, airport runways Recent projects have included the design of a single layer asphaltic concrete racetrack at Hampton Downs motorsport park (that meets FIA 2 circuit requirements) and the resurfacing of Fiji international airport.
